New Girl

We have another new addition to our troop. Hailey will be joining us. This will bring us up to our 10th (and final) girl. Allyson, Kellsie and Jessica know her from church and the rest of the girls are going to fall in love with her really quick! Welcome Hailey! We are excited to have you!

Wednesday Night

This wednesday is our next troop meeting. Destiny has the snack and we are working on caring for children badge. There will be 7 kids coming to our meeting, so the girls can play with them, color with them, fix a snack for them and read to them. We know the girls are going to love it (mostly because they picked the badge). So come ready to play!

We meet at Carlos Rey from 6-7:30pm in the PTO room. For the parents. We will have the list of all the council events, so come with your calendar! See Ya There!

Nachos and a Movie

Pictures to come...

We went up to Council for a Service Unit Early Bird Event. We had Nachos and watched Troop Beverly Hills. The girls really liked the movie. They were talking about their favorite parts of the movie on the way home.

The Nachos were perfect! Thanks to Laurel's husband's work who donated all the nacho stuff. YOU ROCK JIMMY!

Swimming

We were suppose to do the remainder of our swimming badge this Saturday, but it has been cancelled. At the first meeting in Sept, we will pick a date that works for the majority. Sorry for the confusion.

Reminder

We have our Early Bird Event this Friday from 6pm to 8pm at Council. Please meet at my house (Katie) at 5:15pm, so Summer and myself can take the girls up to council. Our service Unit is in charge of this event, so Laurel is going right up to council after work to set up.

Remember 5:45pm. Don't be late!

We will call when we are leaving Council, so you know what time to pick up your girls from my house. It will be about 8:30ish.

Sumber Party/Planning Meeting

For our Slumber Party/ Planning meeting we met at my house and for an hour planned the whole year. I am really impressed at the badges the girls wanted to do. Some of them were way above the age level, so we will do them next year. See the calendar for all the badges.

After the planning part of the night, the girls started working on the blankets for the VA hospital and a couple for the Preemie unit of UNM. I am really proud of their ability. They did a great job and finished 5 blankets!

Then they started making Puffles (those mom's who's daughters were there, understand my pain). Kellsie taught them how to take Yarn and wrap it around their fingers. Then they cut the loops and there is a yarn fur ball(I am still finding yarn everywhere in my house).

Diana and Sophia

We are really excited that Diana and Sophia are back in our troop. They came to our first activity of the year at the River and the girls had a blast!

Rio Grande River Trip

Talk about muddy! We went to the River last night to start working on our Water is Fun badge. We were suppose too look for animals that lived around a water source. float a leave in the water and talk about currents. Talk about conserving water. Look and Listen to the surroundings. Boy did that not happen!

We walked to a little inlet (see picture below) and at first the girl could just stand at the edge and look, because we didn't plan on going in the water. Look how things change! My favorite pictures is the last one, where all the muddy, gross girls were hugging Laurel. That might have to be a new screen savor. I know the girls had fun, because they were laughing and playing the whole time!

Activity Flyers

When we get a flyer for an upcoming event, we will add it to the right where it says events. So far there is the Service Unit Early Bird event. Our troop is going as a troop, so check out the info. Laurel will be at council, so I will be leaving from my house to take the girls up there. I will need one more mom to help me drive the girls up there. Anyone want to come and watch Troop Beverly Hills and eat nachos? I will be leaving at 5:15pm from my house for this event.

There is also a recruiting event flyer. This is for our service unit. If you want to attend you will be taking your own daughter, this is not a troop event. If you bring your daughter and a friend to sign up (the friends parent needs to be there as well) , then she will get a patch. This is a free event. We will be putting together new troops that night.

Any questions? I hope this works for you guys. Anything to keep the info simple.
